American Idol season 24 runner-up. The deadline drove this one. Jordan was still on air and his search traffic climbed every week the show ran, so the pages that captured that traffic had to go up first.

We coded the WordPress theme and structured the pages so Jordan manages his own content. Email capture sits on every page with an automatic welcome message. Venues, festivals, and press book him through a structured form and download a press kit on the spot. Three domains he already owned now point to the one canonical address, and the hosting carries the traffic spikes that arrive during a broadcast, with staging, daily backups, SSL, and a CDN. The current phase of the engagement adds a merch store and page-builder editing.

Trevor wanted a home for his music. He also needed it to do the unglamorous work of collecting email addresses and taking booking requests, which is the part most artist sites skip.

Jwm.nyc designed it, built it, and wired up the mailing list and the form handling behind it. He gets the signups. We keep the backend running. The whole thing is a static build, so pages load fast and hosting costs him almost nothing.

JWM Raceway

Role: Designer and developer One-button drag racing game

One button, a quarter mile, and another car in the left lane. Wait for the green, tap to launch, then grab each gear as the revs swing into the shift zone. Jump the start and the tree flashes red, same as at a real strip.

It looks like a toy, but the physics underneath are real. Engine torque, gear ratios, tire grip, and air resistance decide every pass, so a clean reaction and sharp shifts win races. The timeslip at the end breaks down reaction, 60-foot, and trap speed, and your best run is saved. It plays on a phone as easily as on a desktop, with nothing to install.

Role: Designer and developer New Year's Eve seating concept

Nobody wants to buy an event ticket without knowing what they're paying for. So we built the room. It's a hotel ballroom in 3D, set for a New Year's Eve party, and you orbit it, zoom in, and tap any table to see its tier and price.

Platinum down to Bronze is color-coded across the floor, which turns the gap between a $1,250 seat and a $350 seat into something you can see instead of something you have to read. No plugin, no download, and it works on a phone.

A showreel of 3D modeling, lighting, and animation work built in Cinema 4D, rendered with Arnold, and composited in After Effects.

This is the same skill set behind the interactive 3D work above. Knowing how to model and light a scene for a rendered film carries straight over to building one that runs live in a browser.

Chess

Role: Designer and developer Face-to-face chess over live video

Two people play chess in a browser while talking over live video and voice. Nothing to install, no account to make. One player starts a game, the other joins with a short code, and the video connects straight between the two phones.

The board enforces every rule, including the awkward ones. There's a demo mode that plays itself if you'd rather watch than play.

World Cruise Shop

Role: Designer and developer Luxury cruise comparison concept

A search-and-compare site for world cruises, the kind that run a hundred days and cost more than a car. Filter by line, length, and budget, open any voyage for its itinerary, ports, ship, and fares, then ask for pricing.

At that price a booking is a slow decision, so we gave it room to breathe. Plenty of open space, real photography, and type that doesn't shout.

I joined Prizeout as employee number five and the only designer. My work on this team helped the company raise $30M. These are screens from the platform where brands build and manage the ad campaigns that reach people as gift card offers.

The screens shown here are primarily concepts: a redesign of that production work, done to the standard I would have shipped with more time and more creative freedom.

Gift Card Web App

Role: Lead Designer Prizeout, Inc.

The consumer half of the same business, and part of the work behind that $30M raise. This app connects to betting platforms like DraftKings and FanDuel and lets someone trade their winnings for a gift card at a discount, which is a better deal for the player and a cheaper payout for the operator.

I designed the browse, checkout, and confirmation flow, along with the brand and design system underneath it. Prizeout signed more than ten retailers in its first thirty days. As with the campaign platform, the screens here are primarily concepts, redesigned to show where I would have taken the visual design.

AimLabs

Role: Sr. Product Designer AimLabs, formerly Statespace Labs

AimLabs is a desktop game where players train their aim for first-person shooters. I redesigned the screen that comes up after every run so a score reads in a glance instead of hiding inside clutter, and designed Sens Finder, a short test that hands a player the mouse sensitivity they should be using.

Along the way I found a way to pull thousands of Steam reviews into one place, which helped the team set design and product direction. Sens Finder became the company's biggest source of search traffic, and close to half of all paying subscribers arrived through Google searches tied to it. Some of these are designs I shipped. Others show how I would have taken them further with more time. My work on this team helped generate $24M in sales.

Mobile Trivia Game

Role: Lead Designer Mobile gaming studio, 2019

The studio made trivia apps for iPhone and Android where players answered questions to win real money. I led the redesign and built the design system covering all three of their apps. Engagement rose 15% afterward.

Some of these are the designs I shipped in 2019. The rest show how I would have redesigned the app with more time and more creative freedom.

Job Ring lets employers fill open roles through referrals from their own people. Sign-up is where most products lose someone for good, so I redesigned the entire entry flow, from the first screen through a finished profile. Designed in Figma.

Print work for two different sales teams. Softrams carried theirs into meetings to sell companies on Job Ring; Prizeout's went out on merchant pitches. Both had the same job: explain the business and the offer well enough, in one page, that someone says yes. Designed in Figma and Adobe XD.

Role: Lead Designer Leal Carbon and Business.com

Two website designs. The Leal Carbon redesign was self-directed, done to work through a visual problem I wanted to solve. The lead-generation page was for BuyerZone, a Business.com property: the old template was dated and leaked visitors, so I replaced it with something clearer and easier to finish. A/B testing on the redesigned pages lifted lead conversion 8% and engagement 30%. Designed in Figma and Adobe XD.
